Ganjnameh-Abbasabad Valley - Strategic | Hamedan | 2002
Ganjnameh–Abbasabad Valley in Hamedan, 2.5 km in length, is one of Hamedan’s most significant natural and historical sites. Ancient inscriptions alongside beautiful natural waterfalls, lush gardens, and granite mountains form a highly valuable ensemble. This strategic plan defines the relationship between the valley and its surrounding urban and natural context, assesses the feasibility of tourism development in and around the valley, and proposes multiple projects. These include preservation of the mountain environment, protection and enhancement of existing gardens, conservation and landscape quality improvements around the two historic monuments, safeguarding the ecological value of Mishan Plain and the surrounding highlands with their unique granite formations, strong opposition to the cable car project that threatens the historical character, and risk mitigation along the rockfall-prone Mishan path. It also proposes suitable architectural models for sustainable tourism development.
