2-44. Mi'adgah – Center for the Cultural Houses of Iran’s Ethnicities | Tehran | 1995
This structure is designed atop the heights of Jamshidieh, overlooking Tehran, with a total area of approximately 8,000 square meters. It includes galleries showcasing the art of various regions of Iran, an amphitheater and concert hall with expansive views of the city, a restaurant, an eastern-style teahouse for watching the sunrise, and a western teahouse for watching the sunset. The complex also features a traditional gym (Zurkhaneh) and spaces for hosting festivals and celebrations.
Special ceremonies for different Iranian ethnic groups are held on specific days or weeks. At the highest point of the complex stands a light tower that emits a unique light each night based on the scheduled events. This light is visible from across Tehran, informing the city’s residents of the ongoing cultural happenings. Access to the complex is provided via an inclined elevator on the eastern side, through the Jamshidieh valley.
